Mandarin Oriental Macau Special Touches

Here are some of the special touches in the standard room at the Mandarin Oriental Macau.

Check-In Service is done all in-room with a representative showing you around the room and going over stay details. Crystal, the PR rep, explained that this is why their lobby is small because there’s seldom a line for checking in. It’s a lovely, personalized approach to visiting.

Most rooms have a bathtub with a view. Unlike other hotels with a similar feature, at the Mandarin Oriental Macau, you don’t have to close your curtains. At the Four Seasons Macau, I walked around naked before I realized that there was another tower facing ours. I remembered to close my curtains after that. But here, you can relax and enjoy the view while bathing or showering in the separate shower.

The espresso machine cups are complimentary and refilled. There’s turn-down service as well in which they arrange your scattered amenities and fold your clothes. They even wrapped up my charger cords neatly.

I didn’t eat these but chocolates were provided. I heard they were delicious.

Umbrellas were also provided. They were much needed during my stay.

The only complaint I have with the Mandarin Oriental stay is that I asked someone at the Vida Rica bar to send a receipt copy up to my room, and it never showed up.
Other than that, this is definitely a hotel I’d revisit.
